registration instructions
** UPDATE 1-18 ** We are very excited about 2008 CCU Summer League. In 2006, we registered 137 players. In 2007, we registered almost 200, including over 50 women. This year, we are shooting for 238 players including over 70 women. But we need your help. Invite your friends, reach out to your neighbors and cube buddies... get an office team together. Help us grow the league. We've love to grow to 14 teams of 17 players this summer, with a north and south division and crossover games. It will be incredible!! If you'd like to captain or get involved in helping to pull things together, please email CCUcoordinator AT pada DOT org and let us know. RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT!!! Print this postcard to hang up and distribute... (right-click & save-target-as)
(*) New & Returning Core Teams welcome!! Bring a new core team in this year :-) It is not at all necessary to be part of a team to join the league, but don't forget that full teams and core teams are welcome in PADA's Chester County Ultimate League. Here is your chance to get together with some friends and form a team. The only caveat is that this is a co-ed league, so you will need to have men & women in your core or full team. Core Team captains should notify us as soon as possible of your intention to bring a team so we can add you to the captains list on the registration page.
(*) No Pay, No Play - If you don't register and pay, you aren't registered for the league and will not be placed on a team. No exceptions. **If you sign-up and then decide you cannot play for whatever reason, a full refund will be given if you let us know by 6/16 and a $20 refund will be given up to 6/30.
(*) Women Wanted - We are pushing hard to add 40 new women to CCU. Print this postcard to hang up and distribute... (right-click & save-target-as)

RULES
- Follow 11th edition rules. This is a change from the 2002-2006 10th edition rules.
- Play to 15 or as mutually decided by captains (Hard Time Cap should be set at 20 minutes after established sunset / 10 minutes prior to civil twilight (defined).
- Timeouts: The 11th edition rules stipulate that in a game to 15, each team is granted two 70 second time out's per half.
- Gender default: 5 men, 2 women [captains mutually agree to changes; be sensitive to numbers of each gender on the other team]. We'd love to go 4:3 if women numbers allow. If you can't field 2 women, and fail to notify the opposing captain prior to game day, and they bring 4 or more women, expect them to ask you to play a person short on the field.
- In keeping with the 11th edition rules, we are lifting the "No foot block" rule for 2008. CCU has now moved past it's "novice league" status.
- Zone can now be played throughout the whole season. Annoucing before the pull is now optional, and zone is no longer limited to the second half of games, or the second half of the season.
- Spirit: Stopping to explain the rules is expected and encouraged. Cheering is strongly encouraged. Be kind to novices.
- Game cancellation for weather: Perform a "Cleat Test" on the field and please make the responsible call to ensure our continued relationship with our field providers; Do not play in standing water and do not play if CCU/PADA or the Field Owners issues calls the games on account of weather. Weather cancelations will be posted on www.Pada.org/CCU/Fields and also diseminated by e-mail to the captains and then out to the players on their teams.
- Restrooms: Public restrooms are available at our fields. Please use them. CCU is different from other leagues you may have played in previously. Do not use the tree line for changing or relieving yourself. Inappropriate behavior has costs us fields in the past and it will not be tolerated.

What to expect this summer
- Games will be on Monday & Wednesday Nights. The number of teams and feild availability will have a significant impact on game nights.
- Pickup will be held somewhere (once we finish the field permit process). We've also been informed of pickup occuring at the polo fields across from the Stroudwater Research Center (970 Spencer Rd, in Avondale PA) Wednesday's starting between 6 & 7. Check out www.Pada.org/CCU/Schedule for more details.)
- We are working on secured fields at Stetson Middle School on the southbound side of 202/322 between 926 and the south end of downtown West Chester. West Goshen is not available. We will be using the Kennett Fields at Anson B. Nixon Park We are also looking into some other options as well. Please email CCUcoordinator AT pada DOT org if you have sugguestions.
- Games WILL start at 6:30 PM again this year. We are asking you to plan on arriving at the feilds no later than 6:15 PM to warm up, stretch, cleat-up, flip for shirts & possession, etc. Games WILL start at 6:30 PM. It is the captains responsibility to make sure they can feild a team prior to arriving at the fields each week and communicating any problems to their opponent 24 hours in advance to allow for rescheduling. The Intramural Attendance Keeper is provided to CCU captains & players to assist with this. If a team is short players or women at 6:30 PM on game day, that captain has the choice to either (A) accept a 1-point penalty for every 5 minutes that (s)he can't field a team, or (B) play 7 vs whatever players (s)he has present, keeping in mind the male / female ratio. If the short team opts for point assessments, the first point is assessed at 6:35 PM and every 5 minutes there-after until either (1) they are able to field a team, (2) they decide to play short, (3) they forfit the game, (4) or they still don't have a team at 7:30 PM at which point the game is forfit and pickup begins. Games will start on time again this summer.
How did Playoffs & Finals work in 2007?
We want finals weekend to be both fun and competitive and we want everyone to have the opportunity to heckle the A-Pool final game before heading to the party. So with that in mind...
- Teams will be grouped into pools by regular season win-loss ratio & then head to head results.
- Pool-play game 1 were held the week of July 23rd.
- Pool-play game 2 were held the week of July 30th (Probably Wed, August 1st due to Wildwood).
- Pool-play game 3 were held the morning of finals, Saturday August 4 at 8:50 AM.
- Each team will played at least one additional playoff game on Saturday, and possibly a second depending on the number of teams involved with the league this year and how many pools we create.
- The top two A-Pool teams had a half or full-game bye going into their final game to allow everyone else equal heckling.
- We are going to try to stick with a playoff format where everyone has a shot at the title, but that won't be certain until we know the total number of teams. In 2007, the final Round of Pool play begans at 8:50 AM on Saturday August 4th at the Kennett Fields. At the end of Pool play, the top ranked team in each Pool played each other for the championship & 2nd place. The 2nd ranked teams in each pool will played 3rd & 4th in the league. The 3rd ranked teams in each pool played for 5th & 6th in the league. And the 4th ranked teams at the end of pool play shot it out for 7th and 8th. A-Pool finals will started with a half game delay so that those playing for 3rd though 8th all had an equal chance to heckle teams playing it out for the title. And then the PARTY began!
