• There was an on-line vote Jan. 29, 2007 to approve spending on the permit for Edgely for the PCUA permit from April through August for all weeknights and weekends for $1,400. then cricket will pay us back $400 of it. The vote 9-0 in favor of this. Also, Polo is gone from Edgely.
• Board voted 7-0 in favor of eliminating the waiving of pada member fee for first time players. Everyone pays the fee for the simply reason that the accounting and registration is consistent.
1. Tenant issue: our tenants were contacted about adhering to the rules of the tenant responsibility document and lease
2. Strategic Plan Committee
John gave the overview and context of the committee which formed 2004 and met thru 2005. Jon recommends planning on how organization wants to exist and proceed with leagues, growth of org., etc. The board will discuss and review the plan at the Jan. retreat.
3. New Field info presented by Jon Francis
We need a contractor to grade dirt that gets delivered. Contractor needs to be approved by Fred Hubbard of FP.
4. Summer Leauge ’07 coordinators
Stacy will hold a meeting Tues. 1/16, to determine the co-chairs at which time the board will vote via email.
5. Frisbee Fest
Knappy talked to Pete Wade who is planning this fest at the Belmont Plateau, although at the time of this meeting no permits were obtained. Our involvement will be some public relations in getting pada folks the info to attend. Action Item: Clayton is willing to help out and support it.
6. SportsFest, July 14 & 15, Allentown, PA
Knappy reported contact with the folks from Sportsfest. He is not sure yet if there will be 6 or 12 fields available for a co-ed or otherwise ultimate event. He proposed a vote on how to use this space and event. The proposal was if 6 fields only available than a co-ed tourney would take place making it the Philly Invite. If more than 6 fields are available than more teams other than co-ed would take place. There were 5 votes in favor of this proposal and 2 abstentions.
7. PADA minimum age
It is currently 16 years of age. Beth proposed a vote to keep it at 16 years of age for various size and health reasons. The board voted 6 votes in favor of this and 1 abstention. The age means if you are 16 at the time of registration for the league you are registering for.
8. 2007 Schedule Review and approval, PADA postcard
Mikey Spring thing is Sat. March 24, 2007
9. Website guidelines and content rules
We need someone to volunteer to write guidelines. One certain rule is that alcohol should never be mentioned on the website.
10. Final decision on Snail and Buxmont League for 2007
For Bux-mont (Tom Stohr is coordinator) we suggest a steady pick up game instead of a league due to low numbers and very little leadership and coordination
For Snail: last summer was first season; there were 8 teams = 92 people. Board also suggests a steady, high level pickup game on Sunday evenings in lieu of a league mainly due to low numbers, light attendance probably stemming from club players’ demanding practices on weekends. The vote was 6 in favor of this proposal. PADA will help get the word out about Sunday night pick up at Edgely this summer.
