Although it may be hard to believe, Spring is right around the corner and we all know what that means … women’s league is upon us! I am excited to be coordinating women’s league this year and look forward to watching women of all levels helping each other learn about the game and the meaning of spirit.
People are welcome to submit a core group of women for a team, sign up with a friends’ package, or sign up individually. Captains can submit a core of 9 players with a maximum total of 15 points (see rankings below).
If you don't have a core, but still want to play with a couple of your friends, we are accepting Friends’ Packages of three players (no, you can't baggage with a player on an existing core). Of course, we encourage women to sign up individually as well and will place you on a team. Women’s league is a great time to expand your skills or learn the game for the first time. All levels of players are welcome and encouraged to sign up!
College teams can sign up too, with no Core limitations (all members of your core must be active players on the college team). Even if you do not have a full team of players, you can submit your partial college team and we will place additional players on your team.
The season will run from the end of March through the beginning of May. Finals are scheduled for Sunday May 4th. Games will be held on weeknights from approximately 8 to 10pm at local fields. Registration is $20. College teams pay a flat fee of $150 for an unlimited amount of players.
College and Core Team Captains: Please email your rosters to Nina Buoy at the address below. All cores will be reviewed by a committee of women. Please realize that your full core may not be accepted if there are people who are not accurate in their ratings or if you are over the cap of 14.
I am looking forward to coordinating Spring league this season and welcome any of your questions or suggestions to continue to make this a fun and successful league for women of all experience levels!
