2008 PADA Board Candidate Statements: Kerry Budd

Kerry Budd

By way of introduction, my name is Kerry Budd, and I am running for a position on the PADA Board. Some of you may not know me, but some of you may know me as Budd, KB, Cherry, China Doll, or FlipCup Tourney Superstar, or alas trying to be :) Irregardless, I'm trying to vie for a spot on the Board.

2008 PADA Board Candidate Statements: Tim Johnson

Tim Johnson

As a member of the PADA board for the last two years I’ve seen the ground work laid for many exciting events and activities sponsored by PADA. From the UPA League Organizer’s Conference to the building of the PADA YO (Youth Outreach) program and all sorts of little projects in between. In 2008 I’d like to see us continue to grow PADA Yo, finish up the work on the new field, and keep growing the organization. I would like to see the board begin to look at the big picture in terms of growing PADA, how to grow in a sustainable way, and how to make PADA one of the foremost Ultimate organizations in the country. Having attended the UPA League Organizers Conference I can tell you that PADA is doing exceptionally well as an organization but I think there are things we can do even better to make our organization run more efficiently and allow us to keep the momentum going that’s been built up by previous Board’s before us.

2008 PADA Board Candidate Statements: Katie Drake

Katie Drake

Hi my name is Katie Drake and I have been playing in PADA leagues since 2001. I started out playing in the Fairmount Park summer league after my first year of college ultimate and I was hooked. Summer is still my favorite league and Friday nights (or any nights) at Edgely are why I love PADA so much. It is not just about playing fun ultimate, it is about being part of a community. PADA has created some great programs, particularly PADA YO, that I would like to see continue to grow. I would also like to continue the emphasis on recruiting women and growing the league. There has been a great deal of discussion this year about recruiting and retaining new players. I think there is plenty of room for PADA to grow and accommodate both the experienced competitive players as well as the less-experienced recreational players. I would really like to be a part of the 2008 board. My experience, perspective, and organizational skills are all assets that I wish to share with the PADA community in the coming year. I look forward to building upon the great work that has been done by previous boards and shaping the future of PADA.
